WELCOME TO HALE AUDITIONS!

Thank you for your interest in performing with Hale Centre Theatre—Arizona! We are a non-union, theatre-in-the-round company producing Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals, comedies, and dramas year-round using local and guest artists.

Auditions are open to everyone, and performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and backgrounds are warmly welcomed and encouraged to audition.

Since we conduct all audition and profile reviews directly through Casting Manager, we do not require physical copies of headshots or resumes. Instead, we highly encourage you to upload your headshot, resume, and video reel directly to your profile and make sure everything is up to date so our casting team can easily review your materials!

Audition Process
We hold open auditions for every production. Actors only need to audition once per show—if you are interested in multiple roles, simply indicate your choices on your sign-up form. Callbacks are held by invitation only, and update emails will be sent via Casting Manager to all called-back actors once casting is finalized. Video submissions are welcomed for most productions; when available, specific submission instructions can be found on individual show listings.

Casting Policies
We primarily hire talented local artists on a show-by-show basis, though out-of-town performers are considered for select roles. Please note that Hale Centre Theatre—Arizona is a non-union house and does not hire Equity actors.

GENERAL AUDITION INFORMATION

MUSICAL AUDITIONS

Actors should come prepared for the following:

• Be prepared to sing 16 bars of music.

• Bring your own sheet music; an accompanist will be provided.

• When you make an audition appointment, please post your headshot and resume to your Casting Manager profile. There is no need to bring a copy of your headshot or resume as long as your Casting Manager profile is complete.

STRAIGHT PLAYS

Actors should come prepared for the following:

• The audition will consist of sides from the script. Please prepare only 1 side to read.

• Sides will be determined by the director, and in most cases will be posted on Casting Manager a few days prior to the audition.

• There is no need to prepare a monologue. Readings will be given to you ahead of time or will be given to you when you arrive at the theater.

• From the character breakdown provided by the theater, choose only one role to read for.

• When you make an audition appointment, please post your headshot and resume to your Casting Manager profile. There is no need to bring a copy of your headshot or resume as long as your Casting Manager profile is complete.
